Bank of America debit card users might be spending $60 more a year, in light of fee changes the company announced Thursday.

Customers have already expressed their outrage, and the bank's "stock [to] fall more than 2 percent in late-morning trading," The Washington Post reports.

Meanwhile one Illinois politician has already joined in on the backlash against the fee hike.

“Bank of America is trying to find new ways to pad their profits by sticking it to its customers,” said Sen. Richard Durbin (D-Ill) in a statement Thursday, according to The Washington Post. “It’s overt, unfair, and I hope their customers have the final say.”
