Poll: What Should Replace Borders at Edens Plaza?

A baby supply store and outlet shop are among the suggestions from Patch readers.

The has been vacant for six months, since it closed as part of the company's liquidation. Now the owners are seeking to the 30,000-square-foot property to make it easier to lease the space.

A drug store is rumored to be one possible tenants but Patch readers had some other suggestions. 

Laura Fitzpatrick used Facebook to suggest buybuy BABY, a retailer with locations in Schaumburg and Downers Grove that sells strollers, car seats, nursery furniture and more.

Tongue firmly in cheek, James Stoker suggested a combination bookstore and coffee shop might work.

Gale Teschendorf said she likes the concept of New York's Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, but would really just like to see the space filled.

"I say let the market decide, heck with empty store fronts, just about any business would be an improvement," she said.
