The Avenue Opens to Mixed Reviews

The Avenue, one of Wilmette's newest downtown hot spots, is generating mixed reviews on popular user-review site Yelp, with users apparently loving or hating the restaurant. The restaurant currently has a review of three out of five stars, with 7 reviews total.

"[The] Avenue is a great addition to the growing Wilmette restaurant options," reviewer Barbara S. wrote. "Our downtown area was filled tonight."

User Captain G. was not as impressed.

"The interior is really nice but that is as far as I would go to say something positive," Captain G. wrote. "Drinks are VERY expensive. ... The meal prices seem moderate but more they more than make up for it with very high drink pricing."

Lily C. recommends the new restaurant.

"Fine dining for a reasonable price," she wrote. "We loved the wine and beer samples. Worth a try!"
