Three North Shore Communities Among Those With Fewest Foreclosures

'Crain's Chicago Business' analyzed the largest 100 Chicago suburbs and came up with the list of 10 healthiest and 10 rockiest in terms of the percent of homes in foreclosure.

Lake Forest, Wilmette and Highland Park rank among the 10 healthiest Chicago suburbs in terms of the number of homes in foreclosure, according to a study by Crain's Chicago Business.

The paper looked at the 100 largest Chicago suburbs and ranked them by the number of lender-owned homes for every 1,000 mortgageable properties. On the North Shore, Lake Forest was the big winner with only 1.5 lender-owned homes per 1,000. Wilmette came in at 2.4 and Highland Park at 2.5.
