In addition to running a busy clinical practice dedicated to hip and knee reconstruction and replacement, Dr. Jacobs also serves as the President of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and chairperson of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Rush Medical College.
Dr. Jacobs is especially interested in the materials used for prosthetic devices and has conducted research and published extensively on this topic. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is the recipient of several awards for his work in research.
In his spare time, Dr. Jacobs enjoys long distance cycling and playing the baritone saxophone.
