Peter Lawler Joins Good Sports Board of Directors

Quivet Neck Capital founder brings business management expertise to nonprofit dedicated to providing sports equipment to disadvantaged youth  

Boston (March 10, 2014) – Long-time resident of the Chicago North Shore, Peter Lawler will join the Good Sports Board of Directors. Peter will bring years of corporate management expertise to Good Sports’ mission of getting more kids in the game. In addition, as Good Sports’ first Chicago-based Board Member, Peter will help Good Sports further its presence and impact in Chicago and throughout the Midwest.

Peter Lawler is a founder and partner at Quivet Neck Capital, providing consulting services to the options industry and working for proprietary trading firms, clearing firms and exchanges. Prior to his time at Quivet Neck Capital, Peter helped start OptionsHouse, an online option brokerage firm. Peter also spent time at Goldman Sachs, the Chicago Board Options Exchange, Spear, Leads and Kellogg and First Options of Chicago.

Peter attended the University of Notre Dame and earned his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.  He has served on the Board of Directors at St. Mary’s Services and North Shore Country Club.

“I am excited to join the board of such a well run non-profit.  I look forward to helping Good Sports in their mission of providing sports equipment to youth in need to give all children the opportunity to play,” said Lawler. “I especially look forward to growing awareness in Chicago about Good Sports mission and also growing the number of Chicago youth that benefit from Good Sports’ donations.”

Good Sports’ 18-member Board of Directors includes diverse representatives from a wide array of industries, including the sports, financial, non-profit and media fields. Ten years ago, CEO, Melissa Harper and COO, Christy Keswick – along with a team of founders – launched Good Sports on the simple premise that all kids deserve to play, and experience the vast health and social benefits of regular activity, regardless of where they live and family income.
