"Genetic Roulette" Movie at the Wilmette Public Library

The film will address issues concerning genetically modified organisms.

Go Green Wilmette believes that Wilmette residents should have the chance to learn as much as possible about genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in our food supply. There is some evidence that it affects our health and the environment. It is an issue that has created some controversy, but GGW
believes that Wilmette residents deserve to know more about this topic. To this end, they are sponsoring the showing of  “Genetic Roulette” which is a powerful movie that describes the way in which genetically modified organisms have crept into our food supply and how it affects our health and the environment. As this is very much in contrast to what GM producers such as Monsanto have promised, it is helpful to be aware of potential problems.

This film presents the concerns of scientists and farmers about food and health issues related to increased GMO production and points out why they want foods containing GMOs to be, at the very least, labeled. Jeffrey Smith’s book of the same is what the film is based on. Plan to attend the fee showing of this important film on:

Wednesday Nov. 14th 1:00 p.m.
Wilmette Public Library, 1242 Wilmette Ave.,
