Pancake Breakfast

  • Why Go?: Boy Scout Troop 5 is holding their 66th Annual Pancake Breakfast. The breakfast is all you can eat, and kids under 5 eat for free! The best breakfast deal on the North Shore includes pancakes, sausage, coffe, tea and juice.

Pedal Power Bike Drive

  • Why Go?: Donate outgrown or unused bikes to be donated to students in the Chicago Public Schools as a reward for good grades. Your donations are tax deductible, you will motivate and reward a deserving child, you will have a cleaner garage and you will give that bike a new purpose.

Gentle "Easy Does It Yoga"

  • When: Saturday, November 3, 2012, 9:30 a.m.
  • Where: Full Bloomed Lotus, 1217 Washington Ave. Wilmette
  • Why Go?: Gain confidence, balance and strength with simple yoga postures including chair yoga.  The 70-minute session will allow you to focus on the breath and safe alignment, and enjoy a reduction in stress and anxiety. The class is taught by Daniela Nevo, a Certified Yoga Teacher who is currently focusing on Joint Freeing Yoga Therapy.

Historic Preservation Awards & Wilmette Book Signing

  • When: Sunday, November 4, 2012, 2:00 p.m.
  • Where: Wilmette Historical Museum, 609 Ridge Rd., Wilmette
  • Why Go?: This fall, residents of Wilmette were invited to nominate buildings, gardens and/or landscapes that reflected or enhanced the historic character of the Village. The nominations were judged by a panel of preservation professionals in October. At the Awards Ceremony, the owners of the winning properties will receive certificates of recognition from the Wilmette Historic Preservation Commission.

Ballet in Cinema: Swan Lake at Wilmette Theatre

  • When: Sunday, November 4, 2012, 2:30 p.m.
  • Where: Wilmette Theatre, 1122 Central Ave., Wilmette
  • Why Go?: The battle between white and black swan unfolds in Swan Lake, surely the greatest of all Romantic ballets. Tchaikovsky’s haunting music heightens the steps of prima ballerina Zenaida Yanowsky in this definitive production from the Royal Ballet, with choreography by Marius Petipa and production by Anthony Dowell.
