Employee Chases Man After Robbery

An employee detained the teen, who grabbed a woman's purse in a business, until police arrived and made an arrest.

Police arrested a 17-year-old Chicago resident and charged him with robbery after he was stopped by a store employee, police said.

James Myer went into a business in the 1100 block of Wilmette Avenue around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

He took a woman's purse while in the business and then tried to run out, witnesses told police. The woman tried to stop him and suffered a fracture to her hand, police said. A store employee ran after Myer and stopped him until police arrived.

Myer will be charged as an adult. He was held overnight at the Wilmette police station and is now being held on a $15,000 bond. His court date is June 20 in Skokie.

He needs military boot camp. Sign him up for the Marines, make a man out of him and save his future.
