National Weather Service: Heavy Rains May Lead to Flash Flood
A watch has been issued for Northern Illinois through Thursday.
A flash flood watch has been issued for Lake and Cook Counties through Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
"Heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding late this [Wednesday] afternoon into Thursday across Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana," the NWS notice states. In light of the recent, , additional rainfall "could lead to rapid flooding."
