Police: Man Arrested for Stealing from Coast Guard
Andrew Speropoulos is being charged with felony theft for allegedly stealing several pieces of electronic equipment from the Coast Guard Station in Wilmette.
A Darien man was taken into custody after allegedly stealing several pieces of electronic equipment from the Coast Guard, according to Wilmette Police reports. Andrew Speropoulos, 21, of Darien was arrested on the 700 block of Ridge Rd. Two more suspects are being sought by police.
The Coast Guard reported to police that someone entered the John Scott auxiliary boat at the Wilmette Coast Guard Station between July 2 and July 3. Electronic equipment, including a GPS, depth finder, a navigation system, tools and other items were removed. The recovered items were processed, photographed and returned to the Coast Guard.
Speropoulos was processed and taken to bond court.
