Police: Man Arrested for Stealing Scrap Metal

The following arrest information was provided by the Wilmette Police Department. When an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Theft

A resident on the 2100 block of Elmwood Ave. reported that unauthorized charges were made to his credit card in California, police reports state. He suspects that his card was skimmed during a recent trip there. The charges occurred between June 15 and June 19.

A resident on the 1500 block of Maple Ave. reported that she received harassing hang up and blocked calls for the last several months, spanning from Dec. 11 to June 15, police reports state. She was able to track the number and is requesting police intervention.

Credit Card Fraud

Ged Urbietis, 21, of Wilmette is being charged with auto burglary, police reports state. The incident occurred on June 14 on the 1500 block of Highland Ave. The subject had been arrested in Glencoe using stolen credit cards from other jurisdictions. Morton Grove, Skokie and Glencoe police also charged him with burglary. 

Scrap Metal Theft

Jerry Hunter, 42, of Chicago is being charged with felony theft, police reports state. Officers observed him at the Skokie Court House after he was wanted for investigation for a scrap metal theft that occurred on May 19.
