VIDEO: Wilmette's French Market Opens for the Summer
Patch captured some voices from the French Market, which opened Saturday.
Although not all crops have ripened and the weather was a little glum, tables were stocked and booths were filled with customers when the French Market opened for the season Saturday.
Much of the fresh produce is grown locally on midwestern farms and the prepared food is just as fresh, incorporating quality ingredients and discarding preservatives.
But the shopping isn't limited to foods. Scarves, jewelry, purses and other fashion accessories, as well as flowers and artworks are also abundant. Watch the audio slideshow to check out what's for sale and to meet some of the vendors.
