Wilmette Theatre Spruces Up for Premier

The Wilmette Theatre, which will host the Chicago premier of "The Bling Ring" on Mon. June 17, is sprucing up the 99 year old theater for the event.

"We're painting the women's room, we've been meeting two times a week gathering silent auction items...we're moving tables, pulling our the old theater lights and we rented a red carpet!" Linda MacLennan, theater manager, explained.

Monday's event is a big one for the community - not only is it a major fundraiser for the local theater, but its also a way for the community to come together and support Katie Chang, a New Trier student who stars in the film.

"I think it will be a fun celebration all around," MacLennon said. "For [Chang], as her hometown theater, and great for us. We're like the little theater that could!"

Around twenty tickets are still available for the event and are going quickly. To purchase tickets or for more information on this event, visit www.wilmettetheatre.com.
