Wilmette Harbor Rotary Club Sponsors Food Drive

Wilmette, Ill. –The Rotary Club of Wilmette Harbor is sponsoring a food drive for the New Trier Township Food Pantry on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Jewel-Osco grocery store, 411 Green Bay Road.

Rotarians plan to supply shoppers with a wish list of basic items needed for the New Trier Township Food Pantry to support local residents in need. Shoppers can simply pick up a few needed items as they complete their shopping and drop them off on their way out of the store, said Wilmette Harbor Rotarian Abbey Romanek, organizer of the food drive. The Wilmette Harbor Rotarians will collect the supplies and take them to the Pantry at the end of the day, she said.

“Wilmette and Evanston residents are very generous and eager to help out their neighbors,” said Romanek of Wilmette. “By just asking shoppers to pick up a few extra items, we hope to make it easy to show that generosity.”
