Sargent was an American expatriate with a reputation as a consummate gentleman, but drawn into a scandal over his painting of the infamous Madame X. He was also a gifted water colorist of beautiful outdoor scenes. Claire Cross, Art Historian, tells the story of his life and opulent times via gorgeous color slides of his luscious paintings.
