Katie Davis Memorial Blood Drive

We are again holding the Katie Davis Memorial Blood Drive on
Sunday, November 18th at Kenilworth Union Church, 211 Kenilworth
Avenue, Kenilworth from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm and ask all eligible individuals to
consider giving blood to this very worthy drive.

This drive began in the mid 1990’s to support Kenilworth resident Katie Davis who was suffering from a
form of pediatric cancer.  Katie was
supported by donors for quite some time and donations were truly a source of
life for her.  She even thanked donors in
a letter published in the Pioneer Press in 1995.  Unfortunately, Katie did not survive her
fight, but the blood drive continues twice a year, as a reminder of the power a
blood donation can have.  Katie’s
struggle has had an effect on so many others who have benefited from donations
made in her honor, who continue to survive and grow stronger, thanks only to a
blood donation.  Recently, we have
returned to the original home of these blood drives, Kenilworth Union
Church.  This drive is being held in
conjunction with the Church’s outreach ministries.  All are welcome at this drive.

In this season of Thanksgiving, there is no better way to
celebrate this holiday than giving thanks for your own health, and sharing it with
someone facing an uncertain medical future.
It takes 20 minutes, and is pretty painless.  All it will cost you is a little time.  Please take time to stop by on Sunday,
November 18th.  You will genuinely feel
great for having done so.  We promise you
a warm and friendly welcome.
