Norma Claire Moruzzi, PhD., Associate Professor and Director of the International Studies Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, will lead the discussion series which begins Wednesday, October 16 at 7 pm with a discussion of In the Country of Men by Hisham Matar. In this novel a Libyan boy mustcome to terms with difficult truths about Libya, loyalty, and truth when his father disappears. This story of the violence and absurdity of life during the rule of Muammar al-Qaddafi, also describes the politics of childhood.
