Life on the Edge (NSSC Class)
Moshe Pomerantz, Teacher, Lecturer presents a two-session class: In Israel, if you don't live in any of the three major population centers of Tel Aviv, Jerusalem or Haifa, you are considered to be living on the periphery. This is akin to the American English terms of 'the boonies,' 'the sticks' or being a 'country bumpkin.' Explore with Moshe Pomerantz the background to why and how the outlying areas were settled and the rich cultural and social movements that can be found in the periphery through lecture, film clips, and even music. These people and these places are by no means 'the back water.'
