About the Artist

Justine
Bianco is a fine artist and mother of three children living in Evanston
Il. Born in San Francisco to hippy parents and a world of artists,
musicians and performers, her formative world stressed the values of
creativity and individuality. Her fortune was being taught from
childhood how to paint, sculpt and innovate her own world...

Today,
Justine looks at her children and wants to be sure they are able to
stand against a culture that suggests consumption of identity. Naturally
and like many eight year olds, her daughter Apollonia would be found in
her bedroom with expensive dolls cutting their hair and drawing over
their faces. After a few silly battles, her frustration inspired the
idea to make a new doll where it would be ok for children to explore and
recreate a dolls identity. Justine hopes that Dolly Little can be a
place for children to innovate to their imagination's content...
