Modern "Alice in Wonderland" to Perform on 11/15 and 11/16

The Youth Connection Theatre Experience is sponsoring “Alice In Wonderland,” a new adaptation of the classic story by Lewis Carroll. The show performs for two nights only, Friday, November 15th and Saturday, November 16th, 7:30pm at the Highcrest Middle School Auditorium at 569 Hunter Road, Wilmette IL.

Tickets for the show are $10 each and can be purchased at www.youthconnectionwilmette.org or at the door on the evening of the performance.

This modern retelling, set in a schoolyard, touches on relevant middle school-aged themes, including bullying and being yourself. The production includes a cast of 24 students and a crew of 5 members who are 5th or 6th graders from Highcrest Middle School. Mary Kay Dreyfus, a Youth Connection board member, wrote the script, directed the play, and designed the costumes, sets, and sound. Highcrest parents and local community members are helping with rehearsals, stage management, and marketing.

Youth Connection is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides social, service and educational opportunities to Wilmette area 5th-8th graders. Its after-school programs include free drop-in centers at Highcrest Middle School and Wilmette Junior High School, TGIF, and Battle of the Bands.
