The promise of solar power is intriguing because it offers a source of unlimited energy at no cost as a fuel. However the technology of harnessing it is another matter. This presentation by David Hacker will focus on the conversion of sunlight to useful energy and will include the various means we have at our disposal and possibilities of future methods for conversion of sunlight. Physical principles that allow these schemes to continue are discussed as well as prospects for transition to solar power.
