Everyone loves beautiful music. Our opera houses and concert halls always program beloved, familiar compositions for our enjoyment and edification. Yet there remains a huge 'treasure chest' of magnificent and beautiful music that most audiences don't know - music that should be performed with much greater frequency. This lecture series presented by Patrick Casali of Oakton Community College will give you a relaxed and enjoyable introduction to some of the most beautiful music ever written by both well-known and lesser-known composers. Historical and anecdotal discussions will accompany each of the musical examples. No class on October 4 and 18
