Wilmette Harbor Rotary Club Announces $25,000 Silver Anniversary Grant

WILMETTE, Illinois – To celebrate its upcoming 25th anniversary, the Rotary Club of Wilmette Harbor seeks to present a special impact grant of up to $25,000 for a charitable project that offers substantial, sustainable benefit to Wilmette.

“We seek to support a project or projects that address specific needs in our community with great potential for measurable success,” said Susan Fisher, chair of the Wilmette Harbor Rotary Club special impact grant committee.

“We will consider all grant applications, with priority given to our club’s areas of focus: education, the environment, and youth services,” she said. “Wilmette Harbor Rotarians love hands-on projects that help our community. So, we will also give preference to projects that offer the opportunity for collaboration.”

In addition, the club will continue its regular annual community service grant program. Last year, Wilmette Harbor Rotary Club presented 19 area charities with grants totaling $20,000 through the annual program.

An invitation to submit proposals for the special impact grant will be e-mailed in January to community service organizations that have recently received community service grants, but any organization may submit a proposal.

The Rotary club’s on-going support of community service extends far beyond financial support, club leaders noted. Wilmette Harbor members engaged in more than a dozen hands on community service projects this year, from organizing a cleanup of the local Lake Michigan beachfront to packing food for the needy.
