A unique opportunity to find out more about Freemasonry and
to meet several Past Masters of Wilmette Park Lodge 931.

A Past Master is a person who presided over a Masonic Lodge
for a year, and who, is elected by the other Freemasons who are a member of
that Lodge. During the open house a program will be presented to honor these
men who have served the Lodge as Master.

The Wilmette Masonic building was designed by the noted
architect Arthur Howell Knox (1880 – 1973) and built in 1926. Currently it is
the meeting place of Wilmette Park Lodge No. 931 AF & AM, chartered in
1911, and Wilmette Chapter No. 253 Royal Arch Masons, chartered in 1920.

Freemasonry, the world’s oldest and largest Fraternal
organization, is designed to teach morality and ethics, and train good men to
make themselves of service to themselves, their families and their communities.

Freemason is not a religion, but it teaches it members to be
active in their chosen faith.

Freemasonry does not subscribe to partisan politics,

but it teaches it members to be active in civic concerns.

Freemasonry is not a charity: although it
promotes charity in its members – in North America, Freemasons contribute some
two million dollars a day to operate children’s hospitals, cancer clinics, burn
wards, senior’s homes and other such facilities. On the local level they
provide many services such as, organizing, transporting, gardening and painting
for those in need.
