Community Corner

Wilmette Men's Bowling League

Nine years ago, cleaning up after a pancake breakfast at St. Joseph School, a bunch of school dads sat around brainstorming on ideas for a social activity to help develop new friendships in their community.   Under the premise of Field of Dreams, they challenged one of guys in the group to ‘build it and they would come.’  And so the “(Almost) Every Other Wednesday Bowling League” was formed at the Wilmette Bowl.  The league started with four teams and has grown to eight teams with almost 40 bowlers.

The league has moved to Thursday nights bowling (almost) every other week starting on September 27 and ending at the beginning of April. We start at 6:45 pm and usually end by 9:30.

The league is looking to expand and is looking for bowlers or teams to join.  Each team has 5 or 6 bowlers to make it easier for even travelers. If you are interested in meeting other guys in the community in a very social, non-competitive environment, please do not hesitate to contact Steve Santacruz at jsteve@schoolhouse4math.com.
