Wilmette Rotary Wine Tasting Benefit

WINE AND DINE AROUND THE WORLD… The Wilmette Rotary Club’s gala annual benefit, “Wine and Dine Around the World,” commences Friday evening, Nov. 11th at the Kenilworth Club.  Hundreds of Rotarians, friends and neighbors will enjoy fine wines from renowned growing regions in Australia/New Zealand,  South Africa, South America, France/Italy and California, supplied by prestigious Pantheon Wine Shoppe of Northbrook.  Wines will be paired with sumptuous hors d’oeuvres from A La Carte of Wilmette.  The public is invited and proceeds will support the Wilmette Rotary Club’s impressive service projects.

Planning the “Wine and Dine Around the World” benefit are (in photo from left) Wilmette Rotary Club President Cathy Pratt (president of North Shore Community Bank of Wilmette), celebrated wine expert and wine supplier Johnson Ho, Benefit Chair Mariana Al Far, A La Carte owner and food supplier Christine DiClementi-Harlow and Wilmette Rotary Club past president Terry Porter (Wilmette Village Clerk and former director of Wilmette Parks & Recreation).  Photography was taken at A La Carte Restaurant & Catering in Wilmette.

The Wilmette Rotary Club has sponsored valued service projects for 87 years.  Recent examples are 17,000 books to inner-city schools, Thanksgiving dinner for 75 Wilmette seniors, scholarships to local high school students and water filtration for 100,000 people in India.  The club supports Rotary International’s “End Polio Now” campaign, a 25-year worldwide program that’s brought polio to the brink of extinction.
