Updated: Art Falzer, Owner of C.J. Arthur's, Passes Away

The owner of the Wilmette restaurant died on Jan. 31.

Arthur "Art" Falzer, the owner of C.J. Arthur's, passed away on Jan. 31, an unnamed family friend told Patch.

C.J. Arthur's, which closed in Sept., was a longtime favorite location for locals. It billed itself as "Wilmette’s only nightlife!" Falzer owned the business for 23 years.

"The Wilmette/Kenilworth Chamber of Commerce is saddened by the loss of Art Falzer and for 25 years, C.J. Arthur’s has been a valued Wilmette business," the Wilmette/Kenilworth Chamber of Commerce said in a statement. "Art and the Falzer family have supported and given back to the community. Young and old remember C.J.’s as a family destination and enjoyed the many great times including the Friday fish fry, lunch after soccer, Karaoke night and music by local bands, to name a few.  We will miss his welcoming smile."
