Kenilworth Architect Julius Sih Dies at 92

Julius Wu-Wei Sih, retired president of J.W. Sih and Associates Inc., died at 92. His firm's notable projects include three county courthouses and several CTA structures.

Julius Wei-wu Sih, 92, of Kenilworth, Illinois, retired president of J.W. Sih and Associates, Inc., passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013. 

After earning a civil engineering degree at National Chekiang University in China, he moved to the United States, where he received a master's degree in structural engineering at the University of Michigan. Instead of returning to China, he worked in New York City and eventually relocated to Chicago. Julius W. Sih was the chief structural engineer on the Chicago Federal Center. He established his engineering and architectural firm in 1965. Notable projects by J.W. Sih and Associates, Inc. include Greeley Elementary School, the Sixth District Circuit Courthouse (Markham), Fifth District Circuit Courthouse (Bridgeview), Third District Circuit Courthouse (Rolling Meadows), and several Chicago Transit Authority structures. He was a longtime member of the Union League of Chicago and the Michigan Shores Club. 

Beloved husband of 62 years to Susan Ding-neh Sih and father of Jeanette and Daniel.
