Lloyd E. Williams, Jr. of Wilmette, formerly of Kenilworth, age 79, died peacefully on May 6, 2014, due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease, following a brief stay in hospice care at Evanston Hospital.
Beloved husband for 50 years of M. Anne Williams; loving father of Ellen (James) Abernethy, Caroline (Rudy) Cerrone, Hanson (Alison), Clayton (Tiffany), and Elizabeth (Eric) Boguniecki. Brother of Clark. Dearest grandfather of Alexandra Evans, Sarah Abernethy, Samantha Cerrone, Peter, Max and Zach Williams, Barrett, Hudson and Martha Williams, and Hadley, Paige and Jake Boguniecki; Uncle of Mark (Raquel), Kathy (Jeff) Evans, Sue, Chris (Julie), and Kahle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd, Sr. and Hazel Williams of River Forest.
Lloyd graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School in 1952 and from Yale University in 1956. He served four years in the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps and two years on active duty in the U.S. Navy. He then graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1961.
He was a founding and managing partner of the Jacobs, Williams & Montgomery law firm in 1967, now known as Williams, Montgomery & John in Chicago. He was a member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and successfully tried hundreds of civil jury trials throughout the country over his 50 year career.
His greatest professional satisfaction, however, was the opportunity that his firm has afforded hundreds of lawyers and support personnel over the years to join in doing what he loved and to provide for their families.
Lloyd was an avid reader, runner/marathoner, and lover of cooking, wine and food.
