$4,800 in Counterfeit Checks, D.U.I.

The following arrest information was provided by the Wilmette Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI

Hyeng Seok Kim, 29, of Glenview is being charged with driving under the influence, according to Wilmette Police reports. Kim was pulled over at the intersection of Lake and Wagner on March 2 for traffic violations. Kim was then asked to perform sobriety tests, which he failed, the report states. He was taken into custody for DUI and refused to take a breath test.

A resident on the 300 block of 17th St. reported that an unknown offender(s) cashed counterfeit checks on his account in New York between Feb. 20 and Feb. 27, Wilmette Police reports stated. He noted that he does not know anyone by the names used on the checks and did not authorize the checks to be issued. The total of the checks was $4,800.

A victim was watching their child perform in a class at the Wilmette Park District Recreation Center at 3000 Glenview Rd. on March 1. At the conclusion of the class, the victim put on her coat and exited with the child, forgetting her purse. A Park District employee located the wallet in the bathroom, but the cash was missing, Wilmette Police reports state. 

Possession of Alcohol by Minor and Possession of False Identification

Owen J. Roth, 18, of Kenilworth was issued a citation for possession of alcohol by minor and possession of false identification. On March 2, Officers observed a Roth exit the Jewel Food Store at 411 Green Bay Rd., pushing a grocery cart with two cases of beer, according to Wilmette Police reports. The officers determined that Roth was under the legal age. 

Minor in Possession of Alcohol, Possession of False Identification

Corey D. McMahon, 19, of Columbus Ohio is being charged with minor in possession of alcohol and possession of false identification, according to Wilmette Police reports. Officers observed McMahon and another subject exiting Foremost Liquors at 275 Green Bay Rd. with alcohol, and officers determined they were not of legal age. Both subjects admitted to being under age and McMahon admitted to possession a fraudulent I.D., the reports state.  

Possession of Alcohol by a Minor

One 17-year-old from Northbrook, one 16-year-old from Winnetka and three 17-year-olds from Wilmette are being charged with possession of alochol by a minor, according to Wilmette Police reports. The report states that officers stopped a vehicle for a minor IVC violation on the 1100 block of Ridge Rd. on March 2, and discovered beer and rum in the vehicle. The driver and four passengers were issued local ordinance violations for possession of alcohol by a minor and released to their parents.
