Burglar Steals $2,500 Cash From Garage

The following arrest information was provided by the Wilmette Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

$2,500 in Cash Stolen From Garage

A resident of the 200 block of 17th Street discovered that someone had stolen two boxes from a garage that appeared to have been secured between March 17 and 19, police said. One box contained $2,500 in coins and paper cash, while the other box contained the resident’s social security card. 

Chicago Teen Charged With Identity Theft

Connor Mac Corrigan, 18, of the 1200 block of North Stone in Chicago, was arrested and charged with identity theft and use of a forged credit or debit card on Thursday, March 21, after he made or attempted to make several purchases using a credit card from a wallet that was stolen from Loyola Academy on Feb. 4, according to police. 

Wilmette Man Arrested in Domestic Battery

A 48-year-old Wilmette man was arrested and charged with battery at 10:15 p.m. Thursday, March 21, after an argument between him and his wife escalated to violence, according to police. 

“Grab and Dash” at Carson Pirie Scott

A man and a woman stole several shirts and other items from the Carson Pirie Scott store in the 3200 block of Lake Avenue, then ran outside to a waiting vehicle at 4:31 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, according to police. A loss prevention agent provided a description of the suspects and a possible license plate to police, but no arrests have been made yet.

 

Briefcase Swiped From Backyard

A man left his briefcase on the ground next to the garage behind his home around 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, according to police. When he got to work, he realized he had left it at home and asked a neighbor to go look for it, police said. By that time, it was gone, however.
