Callaghan to Plead Not Guilty

Dennis R. Callaghan, a former Wilmette Park District employee, has been indicted on six counts of alleged theft.

Dennis R. Callaghan, the former Wilmette Park District employee being accused of embezzlement, is set to plead not guilty, Callaghan's defense attorney told Triblocal.

The 49-year-old Northbrook man is scheduled to be arraigned on the six charges at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 1 in the Skokie before a Cook County Circuit Court judge. At that time, he is expected to enter the not guilty plea.

Callaghan . Callaghan was arrested June 2 for allegedly embezzling more than $10,000 over a year’s span while working at the Wilmette Golf Course. He is accused of undercharging individuals and pocketing the difference, according to Cook County State’s Attorney spokesman Andy Conklin.
