Car Accident Closes Sheridan from Westerfield to Greenwood

One driver was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The Wilmette Police and Fire Department are currently responding to a head-on collision that sent one driver to .

Police Chief Brian King said the two-car accident at Sheridan and Ashland Avenue was called in at 2:55 p.m. Monday. The fire department treated one driver for minor injuries at the scene and transported another with non-life threatening injuries.

Both vehicles will need to be towed. Sheridan Road is currently closed between Westerfield Drive and Greenwood Avenue, though King said he expects the road to be open by 3:45 p.m.

As of 3:30 p.m. the cause of the accident was not known and no charges or arrests had been made, King said.
