Chicago Men Arrested for Alleged Series of Burglaries
Wilmette police arrested the duo on Aug. 21.
Wilmette police arrested two Chicago men Aug. 21 for allegedly committing a series of burglaries, according to a statement from Chief Brian King.
Jeremiah D. Johnson, 20, and Avery Rogers, 19, are being charged with two counts of burglary. One of the suspects was arrested in the 300 block of Central Avenue at 6:54 a.m., while the other was apprehended an hour later in the 400 block of Central Avenue.
"The incident strated in the 300 block of Greenleaf Avenue where a resident was awaken by their sound of their garage door opening," the release states. "Police believe the two subjects are involved in a crew that has been committing over night burglaries off the 4th Street & Linden Avenue CTA station."

Approximately 9 burglaries have occurred in the area recently at the following locations:
- 300 & 700 blocks of Greenleaf Avenue
- 300 block of Third Street
- 400 block of Central Avenue
- 400 block of 5th Street
- 300 block of Laurel Avenue
- 300 block of Linden Avenue
Johnson and Rogers will appear in front of a Cook County judge at the Skokie Courthouse on Aug. 31 at 1:30 p.m.
