A victim on the 700 block of 12th St. reported that she attempted to e-file a tax return and was denied because, between April 13 and 15, someone had already filed a tax return in her name, police reports state.

A victim on the 100 block of 15th St. reported that he attempted to e-file his 2012 tax return and was denied because someone had already filed a tax return in his name, police reports state. 

Identity Theft

A victim on the 2100 block of Birchwood Ave. reported to police that their credit card was used by an unknown person in Texas, reports state. The cards were cancelled and replaced. 

Criminal Damage

An employee at Sheridan Shores Sailing School (20 Harbor Drive) reported that an unknown person(s) threw two sailboats into the harbor, damaging them as they were pushed over a chainlink fence between April 14 and 15, police reports state.

A resident on the 1600 block of Lake Ave. reported that a vehicle parked in the alley had its driver's side exterior mirror removed by force, Wilmette Police reports state.

Theft, Over $500

A victim at Loyola Academy, at 1100 Laramie Ave., reported that an iPhone was removed from a gym locker between 8 and 8:30 a.m. on April 15, police reports state.  

Unlicensed Driver

Ricardo Jiguan-Miranda, 36, of Chicago is being charged with driving without a valid drivers license, according to Wilmette Police reports. The event occurred on the 1200 block of Gregory Ave. An officer responded to a minor traffic crash and discovered the driver was unlicensed.  He was arrested, transported to the station, processed, cited and released on bond. 

Identity Theft

A victim on the 2700 block of Iroquois Ave. reported that their credit card was used by an unknown person in Atlanta, GA, police reports state. The reports were cancelled and replaced. 

Disorderly Conduct

A resident on the 100 block of Maple St. reported to police that he is receiving unwanted threatening letters and phone calls, according to police reports. The incidents have been occurring between Jan. 1 and April 16. 

Driving Under the Influence

Michael K. Wieda, 28, of Mt. Prospect is being charged with driving under the influence, according to Wilmette Police reports. An officer stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on April 19 at the intersection of Lake St. and Sunset Ridge Rd., police reports state. He was arrested, transported to the station, processed and released on bond. His BAC was .126.
