DUI Accident, Drug Arrest Near a School

The following information was provided by the Wilmette Police Department. When an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

DUI Accident

Jacqueline Sacen, 22, of Skokie is being charged with aggrevated DUI, damage to village property, possession of Drug Paraphernalia and other traffic offenses, according to Wilmette Police reports. The passenger in the vehicle, Kelsey Anne Zurenko, 22, of Park Ridge is being charged with misdemeanor obstruction of a peace officer, the report states.

Officers responded to the intersection of Lake and Illinois on Feb. 26 for a single vehicle accident with the auto on its side. The passengers in the vehicle both indicated that they were the driver of the auto when the accident occurred, according to Wilmette Police. Both were transported to the Evanston Emergency Room to make sure they were medically cleared, and a DUI blood and urine kit was taken for both parties, as they both indicated that they were the driver.

Further investigation revealed the owner of the vehicle, Sacen, to be the driver, reports state. Sacen was suspsended for a previous DUI at the time of the accident, reports state.

Drug Arrest

Jonathan Abbot, 24, of Evanston is being charged with possession with intent to deliver within 1000 feet of a school, possession of cannabis and fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer, according to Wilmette Police reports.

An undercover officer purchased a 1/2 ounce of cannabis from Abbott at the intersection of Winnetka and Green Bay Rd. in Winnetka on Feb. 26, reports state. The subject fled from the scene of the arrest, but was later spotted in the 400 block of Ridge Rd. in Wilmette, and was stopped at the intersection of Gross Point and Crawford in Evanston, reports state.

Speeding, Driving While License Suspended, No Proof of Insurance

Bev Theresa Reyes Bonjoc, 40, of Skokie is being charged with speeding, driving while license is suspended and no proof of insurance, according to Wilmette Police reports. Reports state that an officer conducted a traffict stop for speeding on Feb. 27 at Lake St. and Wagner St., and determined that the driver had a suspended license. Bonjoc was released on bond.
