DUI Suspect Bites Off Booking Room Camera, Police Say

Also in this week's OMG PD, a man is arrested for screaming at a snowplow driver.

Cold snap

A Bolingbrook man was arrested after police say he screamed obscenities and threatened a public works employee for plowing snow into his driveway. After police  arrived on the scene, the man was still irate and was picking up large chunks of snow and throwing them into the freshly plowed street.

Biting off more than you can chew

Libertyville police arrested a Buffalo Grove man on DUI charges after he rear-ended a vehicle, sending a passenger in that car to the hospital. While handcuffed at the police station, he was seen removing a booking room camera with his mouth and spitting the camera into a garbage can, police said.

Too hot to handle, except with a Taser

When officers went to a Joliet man’s home to ask him about a radio he was suspected of stealing, he appeared "highly intoxicated" and allegedly picked up a frying pan that had oil in it and swung it at an officer. Police used a Taser to subdue him.

Two-bit thief

A Northbrook store reported on Feb. 22 that a DeWalt 20-volt max ½-in cordless drill and DeWalt ½-in 20-volt variable speed cordless hammer drill were stolen. On March 2 a Northbrook store reported that a DeWalt 20-volt Max ½-in cordless drill and DeWalt ½-in 20-volt max combo kit were stolen.   

Trashy behavior

Trash collectors at a Glencoe school reported finding biohazard bags in the regular trash bins on an ongoing basis. Officers talked to the principal, who said it was not coming from the school but may be from a neighbor.
