Five Overnight Auto Burglaries Over Two Days

The incidents occurred during the overnight hours of Dec. 25 and 26, according to Wilmette Police Department.

Wilmette police is urging residents to lock their vehicles after five cars were burglarized during the overnight hours of Christmas and Dec. 26, according to a crime alert.

The unlocked vehicles were parked in the neighborhood south of Glenview Road and west of Skokie Boulevard. Police say shoe impressions in the snow indicate that a lone offender walked up to numerous locked and unlocked vehicles, but only unlocked vehicles were burglarized. Mostly electronic items were taken from the vehicles.
