Kenilworth Police Blotter: Teen Harassed Via Text Messages

Telephone Harassment

The parent of a 15-year-old Kenilworth resident living in the 300 block of Melrose Avenue told police on Dec. 8 that the teenager had received a series of “harassment text messages”. According to the police report, the offender, a 14-year-old Northbrook resident, and the offender’s parents were contacted by Kenilworth police.

Possession of Cannabis and Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor

Three teenagers were arrested near the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue and Richmond Road at 12:55 a.m. on Dec. 9 after police found cannabis and drug paraphernalia on one, and determined all three to have illegally consumed alcohol. Police officers said they stopped the three subjects after they were observed walking in Kenilworth and “acting suspiciously”.

A 17-year-old Evanston resident and a 16-year-old Glencoe resident were issued village citations for consumption of alcohol by a minor. A 16 year-old Evanston resident was also issued a citation for alcohol consumption, but also received two additional village citations for cannabis and drug paraphernalia possession. All three were released to their parents, police said.

Suspended Drivers License

Renato Salazar, 20, of the 1700 block of North Linder Avenue, Chicago, was arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license after he was stopped for a traffic offense in the 500 block of Green Bay Road at 9:45 a.m. on Dec. 7
