The campaign’s goal was to get drunk drivers off roadways and to encourage seat belt use during late-night hours. The campaign included outreach activities and additional police activity, according to the release.

The crackdown was funded by federal traffic safety funds through Illinois Department of Transportation’s Division of Traffic Safety and is part of a statewide campaign.
