Multiple Thefts Occur at Weinstein Funeral Home

A funeral director told police she believes the thefts are targeting the funeral directors because of an ongoing strike against the home's parent company.

Multiple thefts have occurred at the Weinstein Funeral Home, according to Wilmette Police reports. The thefts all occurred between July 19 and July 23.

The thefts have predominately targeted two funeral directors at the home. One of the directors reported to police that she believes that the thefts are possibly because herself and the other director who has been targeted recently left the Teamsters Local #727, which is currently on strike against the Services Corporation International, Weinstein's parent company.

Between July 18 and July 19, a basket containing toilet paper, a soap dispenser and a document scanner went missing from the home.

A box of coffee packets was also stolen, which the director believes was directly targeting her, as it's widely-known among her co-workers that she regularly drinks several cups of coffee throughout the day.

Between July 19 and July 20, a funeral director reported that another document scanner, an electric stapler, a paper clip holder, a pencil holder and a staple remover were missing from the home, reports state.

Between July 22 and 23, employees at the Weinstein Funeral Home reported that a three small tables, a suit coat, CDs and glasses were missing from the home. The estimated cost for the missing objects was $950.

The locks in the office have been recently changed.
