Police: Bag Stolen from Centennial Pool
The following arrest information was provided by the Wilmette Police Department. When an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Theft
A Wilmette resident reported that her bag was stolen at Centennial Pool at 2300 Old Glenview Rd. on June 16. She was with her husband and young child when they stepped away from her bag — which contained her cell phone, her and her husband's wallet (including credit cards and driver's license) and her husband's cell phone. At the time of the report they were unaware of any fraudulent charges on their credit cards.

The owner of a residence on the 300 block of Oak Circle reported that an unknown offender(s) took a piece driftwood and a boulder from his backyard, police reports state. The incident occurred between June 15 and June 16. The report states that unknown suspect(s) entered the garage and dug up some bricks but took nothing else from the residence.
Driving Under the Influence

Anthony D. Varchetto, 28, from Hoffman Estates is being charged with driving under the influence, police reports state. Officers responded to the 1100 block of Wilmette Ave. for a suspicious vehicle on June 16. A traffic stop was conducted for violations, and Varchetto failed field sobriety tests, reports state. He refused to take a breath test.
Theft
An Evanston resident reported that she left her wallet at Panera Bread in Wilmette between June 15 and 16, police reports state. When she returned to get it, it was gone.
Fraud
An elderly resident on the 500 block of LeClaire Ave. reported that an unknown offender(s) accessed her account number and had written seven checks for approximately $7,000, police reports state. The checks all appear to have been cashed in states other than Illinois between May 15 and June 14.
Driving With a Suspended License
Babak Ahmadi, 25, of Skokie is being charged with driving without a valid driver's license, police reports state. Ahmandi was stopped at the intersection of Greenwood Ave. and Wilmette Ave. for minor traffic violations when it was found that he didn't have a valid license, police reports state. Ahmandi was processed for the arrest and later bonded out.
Driving With a Suspended Driver's License
Braulio Guzman, 43, of Chicago is being charged with driving with a suspended driver's license and a warrant in Dupage County, police reports state. Guzman was taken into custody for the charges and is waiting for bond on both the warrant and the arrest, police reports state. Guzman was stopped at the intersection of Harms Rd. and Glenview Ave. on June 18.
