Police: Man Arrested for Bike Theft

The following arrest information was supplied by the Wilmette Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Domestic Battery
A resident on the 800 block of Leamington Ave. reported that her ex-boyfriend entered her home and battered her on August 3, police reports state. The subject fled the area prior to the arrival of the police. 

Auto Burglary
A resident on the 2200 block of Birchwood Ave. reported that between August 2 and August 3, an unknown offender(s) took his GPS and window mount from his unlocked vehicle overnight, police reports state. Nothing else was found disturbed or missing from the vehicle. 

Identity Theft
A resident on the 800 block of Leyden Ln. reported that an unknown offender(s) opened a charge card using his personal information without his permission, police reports state. The theft occurred between June 13 and August 3. 

Bike Theft
Pablo Roballar, 35, of Chicago is being charged with theft, according to Wilmette Police reports. Officers located Roballar with a bike on the 600 block of Leamington Ave. on August 3. Police found  that the bike had been taken from a home on the 600 block of Leamington Ave. Roballar admitted to taking the bike and was charged with theft. He was processed and later released after posting bond. 

Driving Under the Influence
Sari Kaplan, 38, of Wilmette is being charged with driving under the influence, according to police reports. Police received a call of a possible DUI north bound I-94 from Touhy. The vehicle was located on the 8-- block of Lacrosse Ave. with the engine running and dome light on. Kaplan failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for driving under the influence. She agreed to a breath test, which showed that she had a BAC of .121. 

Auto Burglary
A resident on the 200 block of Maple Ave. reported that between August 2 and August 3, a window was broken out of their vehicle and a Garmin GPS was taken, police reports state. 

Theft
A resident on the intersection of 4th St. and Linden Ave. reported that her locked bicycle was taken on August 4, police reports state.
