Rapoport's Former Home Damaged, Sister Arrested for DUI

Sister of accused murderer was arrested by Wilmette Police on May 1.

Brittney Rapoport, the sister of accused murder , was arrested Sunday morning and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, as well as driving without a valid license, according to police.

Authorities stopped the 19-year-old around 6:30 a.m. because her gray four-door Hyundai matched the description of a vehicle believed to be involved in a damage incident that occurred at 3115 Hill Lane, the site of the Christmas murder of Nancee Rapoport. Nancee was Anthony and Brittney's aunt. Brittney later admitted to police that she had been to the residence and further damaged an already busted window. She had not resided in the home for years and currently lives in Indiana, according to Wilmette Police.

Brittney's grandparents, Hershel and Celeste Rapoport, who owned the residence at the time of the murder, are believed to be living in Chicago with guardians, according to police. Hershel and Celeste sold the home in January, according a local real estate records.

Meanwhile the vehicle, which authorities reported as having a "strong odor of cannabis,"  was registered to the Hill Lane address. When asked if she knew her rights, Brittney responded, "Yes, I don't want to answer any questions," according to the police report. The report also noted that Brittney was verbally combative, uncooperative and fell asleep several times in lock-up.

She refused a blood and urine test, telling officers that “she didn’t have to," according to the police report.

Brittney is set to appear in the Skokie Courthouse on May 31 at 1:30 p.m.
