Village: 271 Without Power in Kenilworth

A traffic light is down at Kenilworth Avenue and Sheridan Road.

Approximately 271 Kenilworth ComEd customers are still without power as of 10 p.m. Monday, according to Village Manager Brad Burke.

"The one reminder we want to stress is to encourage folks to call ComEd to report their outage even if they think their neighbors made the call." Burke said, "Our e-mail and Internet service is down here at the village hall, which is impacting our ability to get out of the message effectively."

Power is out at Kenilworth's Public Works facility, which has been running on a back-up generator since , Burke said. The only reported traffic light outage has been at Kenilworth Avenue and Sheridan Road, but no major public damage has occurred, he added.

"We did have one tree that fell across and blocked traffic on MaClean Avenue, but didn’t have any damage as a result," he said.

For now, Burke said ComEd hasn't given the village a timeline for restoration.
