Weekend Home, Auto Burglaries Hit Wilmette

Police issue an alert to residents on Monday after incidents.

A residential break-in on Friday and an auto burglary overnight Sunday have prompted Wilmette police to issue a crime alert.

On April 8 between 7:30 p.m. and 12 a.m., jewelry and a safe were taken from a home in the 3100 block of Hill Lane. Authorities found a pry in a first floor window of the residence.

A car stereo was reported taken from an unlocked car in the 1300 block of Gregory Avenue between Saturday night and Sunday morning. The item was later recovered at the corner of 15th Street and Maple Avenue.
