Wilmette Blotter: $3,000 Bike Stolen, Theft at Centennial Pool, Wilmette Recreation Center

Bike Theft

A racing bike valued at $3,000 was stolen from an unlocked garage in the 1600 block of Spencer Avenue between Aug. 3 and 4. 

A Trek men’s mountain bike valued at $500 was stolen from an unlocked garage in the 1600 block of Washington Avenue on Aug. 2.

A bike valued at $300 was stolen from a home in the 1600 block of Central Avenue between July 28 and 31. The bike was later found locked to a telephone pole at 1621 Central Ave. The owner says he typically leaves the key in the cable lock. 

A locked men’s mountain bike valued at $435 was stolen from Gillson Park between July 27 and 30. 

A bike valued at around $300 was stolen from an unlocked garage in the 1300 block of Isabella Road between July 29 and 30. 

A locked men’s bike valued at $800 was stolen while parked in the 700 block of Green Bay Road on Aug. 3. 

A bike valued at $500 was stolen from an unlocked garage in the 1700 block of Washington Avenue between July 30 and 31.

Theft at Centennial Pool

A Coach wallet, credit cards, cash were stolen from a tote bag while the owner was swimming at Centennial Pool, 2300 Old Glenview Rd., on Aug. 5. The bag was left next to a chair on the pool deck. The loss is estimated at under $300. 

About $1,000 in cash, several credit and identification cards and The Last Man book on CD were stolen from a car parked at Centennial Pool, 2300 Old Glenview Rd., on Aug. 4. The book on CD was borrowed from Wilmette Public Library. 

A tote bag containing a wallet, cell phone and various other items were stolen while the owner went swimming at Centennial Pool, 2300 Old Glenview Rd., on Aug. 4. The bag was left next to a chair on the pool deck. The loss is estimated at around $100. 

Theft at Wilmette Recreation Center

An iPhone valued at $400 was stolen from Wilmette Recreation Center, 300 Glenview Road on Aug. 2. 

Burglary to Auto

A black bag containing swimsuit and other items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 400 block of Sandy Lane between July 30 and 31. The loss is estimated at around $50. Police say the stolen items could match items that were found on the lawn of a nearby residence on Aug. 1. 

About $40 in quarters was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 2000 block of Hollywood Court between July 31 and Aug. 1. 

A stereo valued at $100 was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 2000 block of Hollywood Court between July 31 and Aug. 1. 

About $3 in change was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 2100 block of Parkview Court between July 31 and Aug. 1. 

A garage door opener valued at $100 was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 2000 block of Pioneer Lane between July 31 and Aug. 1.
