Wilmette Blotter: Car Driven Through Halloween Decorations

Criminal Damage to Property

A car was driven into a Halloween display between 10 p.m. Oct. 31 and 7:20 a.m. Nov. 2 in the 200 block of Lawndale Avenue. Figures of Ron Paul, Herman Cain and Mitt Romney were damaged, along with the sod and a temporary fence. The victim said this was the second year his display has been damaged.

Three dry chemical fire extinguishers were emptied and barbecue sauce and ketchup were squirted on the boiler room floor between Oct. 25 and Nov. 2 at .

An 8-ball was drawn with black and white paint between 2:45 p.m. Oct. 29 and 7 a.m. Oct. 30 on the alley wall of .

Graffiti was painted between midnight and 12:45 Oct. 23 on a wall at .

Graffiti was painted on a PODS moving and storage unit between 5:31 and 11:03 p.m. Nov. 6 in the 2300 block of Birchwood Avenue. The damage is estimated at $200.

Retail theft

A large quantity of Olay beauty products were stolen around 8 p.m. Oct. 26 at .

Theft

A $300 car seat was stolen from the parking lot at between 8:30 and 9 a.m. Nov. 6.

Identity theft

A resident of the 2800 block of Orchard Lane reported that a Kohl's credit card was opened under his name and used to make $365 in purchases between Aug. 15 and Oct. 30.

A Comcast account was opened in the name of a resident of the 100 block of Laurel Avenue between March 1 and Oct. 28 and billed for $605.
