Wilmette Blotter: Chicago Man Crashes into Wilmette Yard, Stolen Honda Recovered

The following incidents were reported between April 26 and May 2, according to Wilmette police.

DRIVING ON EXPIRED LICENSE
A 31-year-old Wilmette resident was stopped in the 3500 block of Glenview Road on April 26 at 5:53 a.m. He was arrested on charges of driving with an expired license and an expired registration sticker.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Two minors were sitting on a bench along the pathway from l and and displayed their air soft guns while the WJHS track team was passing by. One of the boys struck a runner with a pellet, causing a welt. The boys were later identified and disciplined through the school.

A 41-year-old Wilmette resident reported to police that she was being stalked by a former co-worker since January. The woman received a picture text message from an unknown number containing an image of a topless woman, whom she suspected to be the former co-worker.

A resident in the 500 block of Laramie Avenue reported that a former boyfriend had been sending her threatening text messages between April 18 and 19.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A home in the 700 block of Locust Road was burglarized between April 23 and 27. A metal hammock, a computer and $10,000 antique multicolored iron cast circus wagon were reported stolen at 4:15 p.m. on April 27. The resident told police he and his stepsons were moving out of the household, which was being prepared for demolition. While the front door was locked, the rear sliding door had been left open. The home was not equipped with an alarm system or light sensors.

A flower planter worth $200 and mail were reported stolen from a home in the 700 block of Locust Road between April 27 and 30.

DUI
A 24-year-old Northfield resident was arrested at the corner of Lake Avenue and Fifth Street at 3:46 a.m. April 28. She was charged with speeding for driving 45 mph in a 30 mph zone. Police discovered she had a blood alcohol content of .184 and 3 grams of cannabis in her possession.

A 32-year-old Chicago resident who crashed his vehicle into a yard on May 2 was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a valid license. The man was transported to Evanston Hospital for injuries sustained during the accident.

ARREST, SUSPENDED LICENSE
A 51-year-old Wilmette resident was stopped for not wearing protective eyewear while driving a motorcycle in the 500 block of Sixth Street at 11:21 a.m. April 28. Authorities later discovered that she was driving on a suspended license.

RECOVERED AUTO
A 2008 black Honda  was discovered in an alley in the 800 block of Harvard Lane on April 28. The car was locked and had no apparent damage. It was returned to the owner after police processed a report.

MISSING ITEMS
A resident in the 2200 block of Crestview Lane reported jewelry, including an engagement ring, earrings and a diamond necklace from Italy, missing on April 29 at 1:19 p.m. She said the items were taken between Jan. 5 and 31.

FRAUD AND DECEPTION
A resident in the 1400 block of Sheridan Road reported that an unauthorized withdrawal for $3,500 was made from his Chase bank savings account between April 26 and 29. The charge was made to a new account the resident had opened after a previously attempt of fraud by a California man.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Names were written into wet cement of a freshly poured sidewalk in the 1100 block of Isabella Street between April 29 and 30.

SPEEDING
A 19-year-old Chicago resident was arrested at the corner of Elmwood Avenue and Cherokee Road at 3:58 a.m. May 2. The man was charged with speeding, driving 50 mph in a 30 mph zone. Authorities later discovered that the man was unlicensed and uninsured. Authorities detected a strong alcohol odor coming from the car, but the man refused a breath test.

THEFT
An unlocked Razor Scooter was taken from outside Lad & Lassie, 1115 Central St., on May 2.

An employee at , 3232 Lake Ave., reported her purse that contained $20, a driver's license, keys and a Kindle was stolen from the store's break room on May 2.

Five teens ran from a cab without paying between Ninth Street and Linden Avenue.
